Wierzbowski, Edgewater, FL DEATH NOTICES ANOPOLSKY, Samuel Samuel Anopolsky, 81, of Abrahms Boulevard, for-' merly of Bloomfield, died Friday (September 7, 2001). Born in Russia, he was the husband of Sylvia (Levy) Anopolsky. He was in the wholesale produce business for many years as well as an avid sports enthusiast. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Ira A. Anopolsky and his fiance, Gail Dumas of East Windsor, and Jeffrey Anopolsky and his wife, Julie of Farmington; a daughter, Linda Leslie of Bloomfield; two sisters, Ann Bregman of Bloomfield and Sylvia Goldfarb and her husband, Dave of West Hartford; and two granddaughters, Cara Anopolsky and Marisa Anopolsky. Funeral services were held on Monday, September 10, with interment in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. A private period of mourning will be observed by the family. (Guido) Baillargeon passed away Thursday, (September 6, 2001) at Hartford Hospital, Hartford. the was born December 23, 1940, Berlin, NH. Roger was a sales manager for Kennametal, Inc. in Windsor, in the aerospace machine tooling division. He served in U.S.
Air Force and was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Robert Baillargeon and his wife, Dr. Susan Devine of Somers; a daughter, Michele Baillargeon of Enfield; his mother, Blanche (Hamel) Guido and father, Carmen R. Guido, both of Windsor Locks; two brothers, Norman Baillargeon of Suffield, Carmen Guido of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Janet Gwara of Windsor Locks, Linda Lang of Glastonbury. COSTA, Michael John Michael John Costa, 44, of New Britain passed away Sunday (September 9, 2001). He was born in New Britain on October 27, 1956, the son of Sebastian Costa of Las Vegas, NV, and the late Dorothy (Sarra) Costa.
He was the owner and operator of Human Elements Salon in Hartford and enjoyed the opera. Michael had a black belt in karate and was a spectator of all sports, especially baseball. He also raced cars at Limerock Park with the Skip Barber Racing School. Besides his father, he leaves a brother, Robert Costa of Southington; and several aunts, cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a member of the Jaqulin Rod and Gun Club. She was born in Chavina, Peru and had lived Hartford for 31 years.
Prior to her retirement, Elena worked The Hilton Hotel of Hartford 15 years. She was communicant of St. Augustine Church. She was attended by four of her five children and several of her very close friends. Jean was born on December 8, 1928 in Cambridge, MA, to John and Jessie Polley. Jean graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington, MA in 1946. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Simmons College and then a Master's Degree in School Social Work from Boston University. This is where she met David whom she wed on June 6, 1953.
Her first employment was as a wife and mother. She began her professional career as a school social worker in Roxbury MA and then Manchester, where she eventually became the Head of School Social Work for that school system. After approximately ten years she became the consultant for School Social Work for the Connecticut State Department of Education. While holding that position she earned a second Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College, Worcester, MA in 1987. This enabled her to ultimately complete her career as a surrogate parent for students with disabilities who needed an advocate to ensure they received quality special education programs and services.
This was the job, which she ultimately found the most rewarding and continued to pursue until March of year. She leaves behind: many close friends; her husband who now resides in Shapleigh, ME; three sisters and a brother: Barbara Anne and husband Jack of Sorento, ME, Donald of Barneget, NJ, Marcia of Boca Raton, FL, Marjorie and husband, Tom of Deep River, Ontario, CA; five children: Scott and wife Barbara of Cornish, ME, Joyce of North Haven, Holly and husband Joe of Palm Harbor, FL, Neil of Cherry Hill, NJ, and Bruce and wife Linda of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She considered her children to be her greatest accomplishment and gift. She had a penchant for education and will surely be missed by all that knew her. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Celestino and Madeline (Mazzarella) Colla, and lived in Windsor for most of his life. He was a retired building contractor. Gary Arnold Epling, 56, of Davis Storrs, husband of Lee (Keating) Epling, died Sunday, (September 9, 2001) at home. He was born June 22, 1945 in Pikeville, KY, the son of Hazel (Ramey) Epling of Elkhorn City, KY, and the late Arnold I. Epling. He was a 1967 graduate of MIT and received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin in 1972. His post doctoral work was done at Yale in 1973.
Dr. Epling was a professor at Fordham University from 1973 to 1978, when he came to UConn. He has served as the Chemistry Dept. Head since 1994. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kaithlin Epling and Chelsea Epling; and a son, Brian Epling, all of Storrs; seven step grandchildren, including Laura Lacy of Storrs; a brother, Ronald of Florence, KY; and a sister, Lucille Epling Belcher of Elkhorn City, KY.

He was born March 2, 1942, in Hartford, the son of the late Allan Henry Fuller and Vera Harvey Fuller. He spent is early years in Suffield before graduating from the Wooster School, Danbury, in 1960 a and Harvard College, Cambridge, MA in 1964, with a in Biology. He taught in Africa; the Wooster School and was an instructor at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ.
Sam worked as a malacologist at the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Science, Philadelphia, PA where he wrote, published and edited more than 60 articles in his field. He also discovered and named five mollusks, which prior to his identification of them, were unknown the scientific community. Sam's love of litwas second only to his commitment to science. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca of Danbury; two brothers, Henry Woolwich, ME, Woodbridge of Westminster, VT; a sister, Tamsen of Courvallis, OR; an uncle, Franklin Fuller of Suffield; an aunt, Nellie Mattacotti of Oconomowoc, WI; and a cousin, Alfred Mattacotti in Wisconsin. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Samuel in 1983.

Robert E. Gorcenski, 46, of Hebron, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away suddenly Monday, (September 10, 2001) after a long, and valiant struggle from a brain tumor and its after effects. Bob was known to many for his easy going spirit, his sense of humor and his love of laughter, for his golf game and competitive nature on the course, and for how he loved to sit in a tree during hunting season and enjoy the wonders of nature surrounding him. Bob was employed for 18 years by the Corporation for Independent Living. His work, rehabbing and constructing homes for people with special needs, gave him great pleasure and personal satisfaction.
Through this work, he touched countless lives. Bob was extremely proud of his last project, which involved making St. Peter's Episcopal Church accessible to all that came through its doors. Born in Dorchester, MA, on September 1, 1955, Bob and his wife, moved to Connecticut in 1980, achieving Bob's dream of building a home in the country to raise his family. Bob considered himself blessed by wonderful friends and family, and he will be missed more than words can ever say.
His gifts to all of us are immeasurable. Most of all, Bob would want all of us, everyday to laugh, hug our loved ones, and take time to enjoy our blessings. Bob is survived by the "'girls' he cherished most, his wife, Lanie; and daughters, Lauren and Jen; by his best friend and brother, Ed; sisters, Janet and Cindy; and his mother, Florence. Born in Wallagrass, ME, on May 10, 1914, son of the late James Labbe and Maria (Marcoux) Labbe. He had lived in Eagle Lake, ME until moving to Connecticut in 1953.
Patrick retired from Arrow Hart in Hartford in 1976. After retirement, Patrick was a custodian at St. Thomas the Apostle School Hartford. In Maine, he worked for the Great Northern Ship Building Company, Aroostook Railroad, and cut pulp for a northern Maine paper company, among other jobs. Patrick was an outdoorsman in his birth state of Maine and enjoyed fishing and wildlife.
He was an avid and lifetime fan of baseball and the Boston Red Sox. Patrick was a Catholic and communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hartford for many years. Patrick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed. Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Adrienne Berube of Eagle Lake, ME; a son, Allen Labbe of East Hartford; a daughter, Barbara Langdo of Wethersfield; four grandchildren, Kimberly Labbe of East Hartford, Shelley (Labbe) McClung and her husband, Wallace of Virginia, James Langdo of Wethersfield, and Michelle Langdo of West Hartford; and many nieces and nephews.

Lawlor, of Pilgrims Harbor, Wallingford, husband of the late Mary Jane Delaney Lawlor, died Sunday, (September 9, 2001) in St. Raphael's Hospital. Father of Frank J. Lawlor of Somers, Kevin P. Lawlor of Cheshire, William M.
Lawlor of Branford, Katherine Armstrong of Hamden, Jeanne Mazzariello of Hamden and Jane Lawlor Cournan of Pembroke, MA; brother of the late Matthew J. Lawlor. Also survived by 14 grandchildren. Born Feb. 27, 1929 in New Haven, a son of the late Francis J.
and Helen Egan Lawlor, he was a graduate of St. Francis grammar school and the former St. Mary's high school. Mr. Lawlor was employed for 17 years as an officer of the First New Haven National Bank and then worked in financial services for over 20 years, retiring as managing director of Tucker, Anthony R.L.
Day Co. He was a former member of the Board of GovernorsNASD (National Assoc. of Security Dealers), former trustee of St. Francis Hospital and a former member of the New Haven Country Club. He served as Commissioner of the Town of Hamden Planning and Zoning Board and on the parish council of both St.
Rita and St. Stephen's Parish. Eugene had been an active member of the Hamden Fathers Baseball the Fathers Club of both Sacred Heart Academy and Notre Dame High School, the Rotary Club and the Knights of Columbus. Dorothy M. Brigham, 95, of Cedar Swamp Storrs, died Sunday, (September 9, 2001) at home. She was born April 29, 1906 in Plainfield, the daughter of Frederick and Hattie E. (Phillips) Brigham. As a young woman, she worked with her parents for over 20 years operating the "Little Wanderers Home" in Coventry.
She later worked at the Manchester Memorial Hospital for over 20 years in the Dietary Dept. and was also a longtime volunteer at the hospital with the auxiliary. Dorothy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Manchester and in Coventry. She resided with was lovingly cared for by June and Steven Lyford and their children Steven Jr. and Adam of Storrs.
Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456. Jackson (Rte. 195) Willimantic, TODAY from 6-8 p.m. Her funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Coventry, 55 Trowbridge Coventry, with the Rev.
